(About to be) Immersed in Pages!

Hey Guyz! Of course, knowing I'm a complete Bibliophile, I obviously have a summer reading list. But hey, what's the point of you don't spread the read-mas cheer! So here's my summer read list, hoping you'll find a good book too read as well!

Keeper of the Lost Cities – I keep hearing about this one wherever I go, and I tried of the *dramatic gasp!* and the 'You haven't read it?! Oh. My. God!'s. But still, I've heard amazing things about this book series. Sophie’s powers and her role in this hidden world of elves sound like something I could totally get into. What really caught my attention was the suggested suspense, and the compliments about the immersing writing style of the book. Of course, being an ~experienced reader~ that's not enough to get me hooked. The promises of twists and turns, strong comraderies and a strong plot are some of the main reasons I am inclined on reading this book. The selling point? The Genre. Fantasy and Mythological? Count me in!

Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow – I love a good underdog story, and Morrigan’s life is definitely an underdog story with a twist. A cursed girl who’s supposed to die, but instead, ends up in a magical world? I can already tell there’s going to be loads of unexpected turns, and I’m all for a story with a strong heroine figuring out who she truly is. Even though, yes, it is a repeated climax, but each book series has its own unique vantage point. The cursed part also really caught my eye! Good fantasy books with a tough of humor to curl up with, ones which leaves you a little wary about what might really be going on out there after reading, are my type, and this book series fits the description! Color me intrigued!

The Last Kids on Earth
– This book just sounds like a blast. Zombies and monsters have overrun the world, but the kids are still living their best lives — creating crazy gadgets, having fun, and even throwing parties in a treehouse. It makes me wonder what I would do in these situations and reminds me of how fun it would be to just let loose and enjoy life, even in a crazy situation. I know I just the previous two book are a little serious themed, but this would be a good book to unwind and have a laugh out loud. I'm pretty sure its lead me giggling at the most random points, and then people around will stare and think I'm a dork. Not that I have any problems with it!

Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life – Middle school is a mix of awkward moments, impossible rules, and trying to figure out where you fit in. That’s why I’m so excited to read this one. It completely covers all the insecurities and awkwardness when entering Middle school, and  Rafe’s attempts to break every rule in the book seem like the kind of thing I’d love to read about. His confidence, longing for freedom is actually quite relatable in the grueling years of middle school! I can already picture myself laughing out loud at all his wild adventures! (NOTE TO THE KIDS: DO NOT AT ANY COSTS FOLLOW WHAT RAFE DOES. IT MAY GET YOU KILLED, OR WORSE, EXPELLED!)

Wonder – I feel like this book is a must-read, not just for its emotional depth, but for how it teaches kindness. I first heard about it from my best friend, who too, is a bibliophile like me. She sang praises about it like a canary bird! In that moment I was convinced to try the book. Auggie’s story really resonates with me because it’s about seeing the world through someone else’s eyes and being kind, even when it’s hard. The whole idea of the story, of how a child with a different face goes through life, just makes me curious. I’ve heard it’s really moving, and I’m ready to get emotionally invested, ready with a box of tissues, and a cheer-me-up box of chocolate ice cream!

The Inheritance Games – A random girl inheriting a fortune and getting pulled into a web of riddles and family drama? I’m all in. Also, (though it's cringe worthy!) I have to say, "TIKTOK MADE ME BUY IT! (or well, consider buying it)" This book has been all around me, calling out to me like a siren! It sounds like it’ll keep me on the edge of my seat, trying to figure out the clues and unravel the mysteries as the story goes along. An engaging plot, and snarky remarks are what I have been promised. The title in itself sounds so intriguing. Plus, the high-stakes atmosphere is totally my thing. With the billion dollar prize as a jackpots? I'm quite sure I'm in for quite a ride!

Wings of Fire – Dragons, prophecies, and epic battles? Yes, please! I have always LOVED the idea of dragons. Like, they would make such cool pets! I love the idea of diving into a world of mythical creatures and following my beloved dragons as they try to change their fates. The fact that this a graphic series made it even more exciting to read. I’m sure the series will be full of adventure and heart, and I’m excited to see how the different dragon tribes interact. The drama and the  battles and the humor? That was an automatic magnet! Given the fact that I'm hooked on fantasies, it is  ensured that this book series has a space on my to-read list!

Powerless – A dystopian world where powers are everything, but the main character doesn’t have any? That concept really hooked me. Paedyn goes through severe trauma, but still manages to find home, only to be whisked away by the cruel fate of destiny. I’m curious about how she will will navigate a world where everyone else is special, and she has to figure out her place in it. Her lack of powers, that all Elites have, gives everyone in Ilya the right to kill her, and I really want to know how she survives. The idea of the story with an outcast girl is always interesting, and adding fantasy here is just a bonus! This trilogy sounds like it’ll be full of twists and tough decisions, and I’m here for it.

Well, there you go! The most ultimate reading list you'll find! If you read any of these books, and enjoy them, let me know in the comments bellow! Maybe I'll also review them some day. For now, it's time for the Wandering Quill to wander amongst heavenly pages of books! Stay Tuned!
